Lafrowda presents Battle of the Bands 2010.

A chance for local young bands to impress and book their slot for Lafrowda.
Entry open to Penwith bands in either the U16 or U19 category. For full details and entry form email performers@lafrowda-festival.co.uk. Great prizes on offer.

Saturday 8th May 2010. Nancherrow Centre, St Just.

Entry to the event is just £2 (performers go free)

Lafrowda are delighted to announce that local boys iPony will be making a special gueat appearance – fresh from the recording studio!

Charity Shop Cabaret in town for Lafrowda

Great news – the weird, witty and wonderful Charity Shop Cabaret will be stopping off in St Just to help raise funds for Lafrowda.

When? – MONDAY 5th APRIL – 8pm start
Where? – W.I. HALL, ST. JUST
How much? – Adults £5, Children £3, Bar and raffle

Audience are asked to bring along an item for donation to the charity shop. No item too odd!

Just 3 days to go till the event of the year (so far) in St Just. We are staging a Silent Disco at the Nancherrow Centre this Saturday Feb 27th.
Supplied with a pair of wireless headphones, you get to choose between the music provided by two guest DJs, or slip them off and have a chat! There’ll be a huge range of music, from punk to funk, indie to disco, and everything inbetween.
Expect disco lighting and effects and a licensed bar.

It is guaranteed to be great fun and not to be missed. Make sure you get there early to get the ‘phones on and get on down!

Lafrowda 2009 painting up for auction

December 2nd, 2009

St Just based artist and great friend of Lafrowda Tom Henderson has again produced a wonderful painting of the festival.
This years piece features the OLD GLORY CREOLE JAZZ band as it headed up the lantern procession.

As in past years Tom’s work is being auctioned for the benefit of Lafrowda. Check out the painting and how to make a bid here.

Tom has made an invauable contribution to the festival for many years, and we are deeply grateful for his support.

Auction of Lafrowda 2008 Painting

Tom Henderson Smith is running a benefit auction of his most recent Lafrowda painting (proceeds to be donated for future Lafrowda festivals). Have a look at Lafrowda 2008 on his website and place a bid for this latest of his Lafrowda paintings. The original can be seen at Penzance Public Library throughout June and after that until Lafrowda Day at Tom’s Fore Street Studio (The Turn of the Tide).
