Lafrowda Eve 2011

Lafrowda Eve – Market Square

Friday 15th July

Lafrowda Eve is when Lafrowda excitement really kicks in. The centre of town is a hive of activity from first thing. The stage is built and the scaffolding goes up to protect it from the elements. Later in the day the square is gradually emptied of cars, the cones and barriers come out and the square is closed to traffic. Lights go up, sound equipment is installed and miraculously St Just is ready to party.
Now, all we need is a bit of music…..

7.00 Blazing Hearts Choir

Drawn from all corners of Penwith, this crew of enthusiastic vocalists come together to produce a wonderful sound.
With their unique take on country classics and more contemporary standards, the Blazing Hearts return to kick off proceedings on a harmonised high note.

8.30 Pondlife

The Motley crew of musicians that come together as Pondlife fittingly celebrate their tenth year by returning to their spiritual home – the Lafrowda stage.
What do we need to say about these local heroes? Despite a combined age of over 400, the 10-piece ska monster from the moors never fail to deliver that recipe for gig success – danceable tunes, fun vibes, and never taking themselves too seriously.
Warning: This performance is likely to induce spontaneous bouts of grinning and dancing.
