True to Lafrowda’s community spirit, there’s a mix of visitors and home-grown talent. Two of our professional performers - X-treme Street and Paul Antonelli - will be sharing some of their skills in workshops for local young people.

X-treme Street

Courtney is an acrobat and a dancer. As an international gymnast he was champion in Zimbabwe for 6 consecutive years. He then moved to London and has become one of the capital’s most renowned street performers. Mike is a professional popper and break-dancer. He was Hungarian champion 3 times and is currently ranked second in the UK as a popper/robotic dancer. On Lafrowda Day they’ll be swapping the Piazza in Covent Garden for Bank Square in St Just. www.x-tremestreet.com

Hodman Dodmanott and Sally Forth

An enchanting, interactive puppetry walkabout featuring an elderly couple of pint sized ramblers. Caught in a medieval time warp they have finally ventured out in search of fame, fortune and friendship, touring the new world with their possessions strapped to their backs.

Sky Larks

They’ve been enchanting the Lafrowda crowds since the turn of the century. The world’s only aerial puppeteers return with their beautiful flying extravaganza - stilt walkers with colourful kite-like creatures which interact with each other, the music and the audience. www.skylarks.net

The Fire Breather

Yes, there will be fire again at Lafrowda this year. One wild looking creature in a moving rope cordon held by four trained escorts. He’s straining at the ropes, and spurting volcanic bursts of fire into the air. Spyrox fire master, Paul Antonelli, is working with some local young people to thrill the crowds . . . with a small, but fully insured and risk-assessed show. www.spyrox.co.uk
